In this blog, I’ll highlight some of the best 1-ton and 1.5-ton ACs available in 2025, covering both 3-star and 5-star models. Choosing between a 3-star and a 5-star AC depends on your usage and budget.

1. If you’re using the AC for around 6 hours a day, a 3-star AC will suffice. You don’t need to spend ₹5,000–₹10,000 extra on a 5-star AC unless you plan to use it for longer hours every day.
2. Star Ratings Explained: An AC’s star rating is based on the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) guidelines. If the star rating was obtained in 2022, it remains valid until December 31, 2025. However, many brands continue to sell the same AC models with the same specifications under a new manufacturing date – 2025, 2024, etc. So, even if you see a 2025 manufacturing date, it might be the same model introduced in 2022 or later.

• Choose a 1-ton AC for small rooms (up to 110 sq. ft.) and a 1.5-ton AC for medium-sized rooms (110-165 sq.ft).
